This Privacy Policy explains how Pixoby ("Pixoby," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://bibleby-landing.web.app (the "Website") or use Bible, our mobile application for iPhone, iPad, and Android (the "App"). Bible is a free offline Bible reader with a verse of the day and a daily devotional, reading plans, a prayer journal, and an AI study assistant.
In short: you can read the whole Bible without creating an account. The App shows no ads, contains no advertising or attribution SDK, and does not track you across other companies' apps and websites.
By accessing or using the App or Website, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use Bible.
1. Information We Collect
- Anonymous Use by Default: You do not need to register. The first time the App reaches our server it creates an anonymous account for you automatically. An anonymous account is identified only by a random account id. It carries no name and no email address.
- Account Information: If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address and a password. An account lets your saved verses, prayers, and reading plan progress reach your other devices. For every account, anonymous or registered, we also store the language you use the App in.
- Authentication Data: We keep a sign-in token on your device so that you stay signed in. It is held in secure device storage. On iPhone and iPad the anonymous sign-in is kept in the system keychain, which outlives the App itself, so reinstalling the App restores the same anonymous account and the data synced to it.
- Content You Save: The verses you highlight or bookmark (translation, book, chapter, verse, and highlight color), the prayers in your prayer journal (title, text, who the prayer is for, an attached verse, whether it was answered, and how many times you prayed it), and your reading plan progress. All of this is stored on your device first and works offline. A copy is synced to our server under your account so that it can be restored and, if you create an account, reach your other devices.
- Questions to the AI Study Assistant: Your conversations with the assistant, meaning the questions you send and the answers you receive, are stored on our server under your account. We also keep a count of the questions you ask each day. That count is how the free daily limit is applied.
- Photos You Attach: If you attach a photo to a question for the assistant, it is uploaded to our server, stored with that conversation, and sent to a third-party AI model provider to produce the answer.
- Reports About AI Text: The assistant's answers and the daily devotional are written by AI and carry a "Report" action. If you use it, we store the text you reported, the question that led to it, and your note if you add one.
- Device and Usage Information: Device model, OS version, app version, language, and in-app events (e.g., which screens and features you use), linked to your account id.
- Crash and Performance Diagnostics: Crash reports and performance diagnostics to help us troubleshoot and improve stability, linked to your account id.
- Push Notification Token: A push token from Firebase Cloud Messaging, stored with your account so that notifications can be delivered to your device. You can turn notifications off in your device settings.
- Purchase Information: If you subscribe to Bible Premium, we receive your subscription status from RevenueCat, so that the subscription works and can be restored. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your payment card details.
- Server Logs: When a request from the App to our server fails, the server writes a log entry with your IP address and your account id. Log entries are deleted after 5 days. Requests that succeed are not logged.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies (Website): The Website sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It keeps your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage and loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google to fetch them.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and improve the App and Website
- Create your account, keep you signed in, and secure accounts
- Back up your saved verses, prayers, and reading plan progress, and sync them to your devices
- Answer the questions you ask the AI study assistant and apply the free daily limit
- Review the reports you send about AI-written text
- Process purchases, manage subscription status, and restore access
- Measure performance and usage (analytics) and improve quality (crash logs)
- Deliver the notifications you have allowed and send account emails, such as a password reset link
- Comply with law, enforce terms, and protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the service
We do not use your information for advertising.
3. Legal Bases (EEA/UK users)
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract (providing the App to you), legitimate interests (e.g., to secure and improve the App), consent (e.g., notifications), and compliance with legal obligations.
What you write in your prayer journal and what you ask the AI study assistant can reveal your religious beliefs. We use it only to provide those features to you. Where the law treats it as a special category of personal data, we process it on the basis of your explicit consent, which you give by choosing to save or send it in the App, and which you can withdraw at any time by deleting it (see Section 7).
4. Sharing and Disclosures
We do not sell your personal information. The App shows no ads and contains no advertising or attribution SDK. We share information only with the providers that run parts of the App for us:
- Analytics: Google Firebase Analytics measures how the App is used. This usage data is linked to your account id.
- Push Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) delivers notifications to your device using your push token.
- Crash and Performance Reporting: GlitchTip, a Sentry compatible crash and performance reporter, receives crash and performance diagnostics linked to your account id.
- Subscriptions: RevenueCat keeps track of your subscription status so that Bible Premium works and can be restored. The payment itself is handled by Apple App Store or Google Play billing.
- AI Processing: When you ask the AI study assistant a question, the text of your question, the recent messages of that conversation, and the photo, if you attached one, are sent through OpenRouter to a third-party AI model provider to produce the answer. Your account id and email address are not sent with them. The daily devotional is written by an AI model in the same way, without any user data.
- Backend: Our own backend (PocketBase, running on a DigitalOcean server) stores your account and the data described in Section 1.
- Network: Cloudflare routes the traffic between the App and our server, and sees your IP address while doing so.
- Legal/Compliance: If required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer.
5. Tracking, Cookies, and Choices
The App does not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies, and it does not ask for the tracking permission. You can turn notifications on or off in your device settings at any time.
The Website sets no advertising or analytics cookies. You can clear the theme choice it keeps in local storage in your browser settings. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account and the data stored under it for as long as the account exists. When you delete your data or your account (see Section 7), the account and everything stored under it on our server is deleted right away.
A few records live outside the account and are not removed by that deletion:
- Backups of our database are made once a week and the four most recent are kept, so a deleted account can remain inside a backup for up to five weeks before it is overwritten.
- Usage statistics and crash reports that were already sent to our analytics and crash reporting providers stay with them until their own retention period ends, which is 14 months at most. They carry the account id, not your name or email address, and once the account is deleted that id no longer leads to anything.
- Your subscription status stays with RevenueCat, and records of purchases you made through the App Store or Google Play stay with Apple or Google.
- Anything the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data; object to or restrict certain processing; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
You can delete your data at any time in the App:
- If you have not created an account: open Profile (the gear icon on the Today tab) and choose "Delete my data".
- If you have created an account: open Profile, then Account, and choose "Delete Your Account".
Either way, the account and everything stored under it is deleted from our server and from the device. You can also email us at info@pixoby.space from the email address of your account, or with the User ID shown in a support email sent from the App, and we will delete the account within 30 days.
Deleting your data does not cancel a Bible Premium subscription. A subscription is cancelled in your App Store or Google Play account. The full steps are on the Delete Your Account and Data page.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk (e.g., secure storage for tokens, encryption in transit) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure.
9. International Transfers
We may process and store information in countries outside your own. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers to countries without an adequacy decision.
10. Children's Privacy
Bible is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post updates here and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated as required by law.

California residents have the right to know, access, correct, delete, and port certain personal information, and to opt out of the sale or "sharing" (cross-context behavioral advertising) of personal information.
